The Green Party's strives to create a strong political voice through a grass roots democracy process. It accomplishes this by conducting itself under the guidance of the ten key values of the Green Party. In order for the Green Party of Seattle to be effective, it must have the voice of the community in its daily operations. The Green Party of Seattle relies solely on volunteers for its effectiveness.
The Green Party of Seattle has become the "Friends of Water Way 19," a small waterway park adjacent to Seattle's Gas Works Park. Each quarter we will be hosting a work party for individuals and families to participate in. Work party themes will vary, but include; invasive plant removal, path restoration, litter clean-up, planting and general maintenance of this underutilized park. Come share your horticulture talents and help restore this uncut gem of a park in the Seattle area. Check our Calendar to see when the next work party is scheduled! For more information, contact us at volunteer@seattlegreens.org.
The Green Party of Seattle conducts most of its outreach in the community by hosting a space at major events in the greater Seattle Area. Current coming events include; The International Woman's Day Fair, Gay Pride and the Fremont Fair. This is an opportunity to educate the broader community on local and national green issues with like-minded people and have some fun! For more information, contact David Coons at outreach@seattlegreens.org.
The Green Party continually expands its education and outreach in the community. Do you have positive relationships with the media that you would like to share with GpoS? Are you a person that reads publications regularly? We would like to increase our exposure to the media and would like volunteers to monitor publications so that we know if we have been published. If either of these appeal to you, please contact media@seattlegreens.org.
The Green Party of Seattle is active on many local and national political issues. Currently we are working on gathering signatures to support equal access to health care and Instant Run-off Voting. We frequently need volunteers to gather signatures at tabling events, at farmers markets and other public events.
